Symantec pre-sales and post-sales representatives have provided us with the best of quality in services and recommendations towards the selection, deployment and support for our SSL certificates.

they will give you a cert for anything, even google.
There’s no doubt that it’s a brand and a name you can trust, and so can your customers. For that reason alone, we chose Verisign / Symantec, despite the fact that the price tag was a little excessive. Although pricey, this brand helped build and maintain trust in online transactions at a time when people were not sure about online security and privacy (2005-2013). 2015, I still trust this brand, but I hope it will be priced more competitively. Whether it is, it’s certainly worth considering.
Your support is awesome.. I got very nice responses from online chat support.. I talked to Jakob; he is very knowledge person, funny and supportive.. Kudos
Look elsewhere. Symantec is and always was a horrible company with bad products they rush to market before they are ready.
If I had negotiated a multi-million-dollar transaction platform, the name Verisign / Symantec would be worth a premium. I’m sure the company’s security practices are outstanding. Even for a wildcard to anonymous messaging apps, the initial offer of £40k was a little high. Sales has worked hard? ‘To lower this, and we got something near the £8k mark that was quoted after a day or so. It went to another location for 2k.
Changing the computer after Microsoft Authenticode Code Signing Certificate request caused problems. The representative was not exactly aware about the solution but was very helpful and solved the case efficiently.
Whilst most other SSL certificate providers will include both the www and non-www domain (even the $5/yr ones), expensive Symantec do NOT. You are forced to buy a VERY expensive wildcard certificate. Symantec/Verisign/Norton NOT recommended. I would however recommend ssls.com for their level of support.
Symantec pre-sales and post-sales representatives have provided us with the best of quality in services and recommendations towards the selection, deployment and support for our SSL certificates.
I got a few calls from Symantec employees (Ireland and Belgium) to clarify the steps I had to take. This personal approach is seldom seen in businesses. The workers of Symantec helped me get the SSL up and running. Great! Great! There was some confusion about the legal name of our organization and the name of the owner of the domain, but this was sorted out within a day thanks to the efforts of the Symantec employees. No bother, no waiting from my side, no filling in service tickets.
The salesperson will hand hold you through the entire process. Support can also walk you through the request and install of the certificate. Symantec is good about giving you advance notice when you need to renew and also walking you through that.
I started shopping around as our new Code Signing Certificate is about to run out. I’ve found tons of other, cheaper alternatives, including Comodo. When I asked why Symantec was so much more expensive, I was told, “We’re just the best!” I couldn’t get an response when I tried to explain the particular qualities that contributed to that assertion. Sorry, but for something that just means that the creator of the code is who he means he is, I’m confused as to why one spends 4 + keystrokes.
I have been a long time customer for Symantec. Recently I needed to order a new bacth of certificates. Just like before – Symantec’s service was excellent, quick and proactive.
We’ve had VeriSign’s code signing certificate for a number of years. But we have not been able to renew it with Symantec this year. Since Symantec has not been able to check our current organizational contacts. We have received a completely notarized legal note, but they are unable to contact the Government to verify the status of the sheet!!! The telephone lines are busy (surprisingly). And “The Worst” is the overall ranking.
“Everything is so simple. we only need to inform our Account Manager, Mr Bassanio Chow, and he will arrange all the necessary requirement. Making it simple and easy for us..”
There is no company I trust more or that is better than Symantec. Period.
Always adding new features to jack the price up..
I have a number of software products that I have recently signed with the EV Certificate from Symantec. It’s definitely not cheap, but the investment is worth it. The installation isn’t too overwhelming, but I needed some guidance from their support staff, so I was 100% pleased with that. The phone was answered immediately, the person genuinely listened to me, explained my concerns, and politely directed me through the signing process. Now users installing my demo apps don’t get the worst warnings about what’s going to happen when they install my goods.
The customer service group and technical group know what they are doing and are willing to help you out in a time of need. If you are not sure how to do something they will have the answer. They make the whole process easy.
The whole process was smooth, efficient & quick. I had tried to purchase a certificate from one of your cheaper competitors & ended up cancelling the order after a week [without having the certificate issued!]. After I spoke with your rep I had the certificate issued & installed on my server in under 3 hours.
The purchase / renewing process was fast and very user-friendly. I really appreciate the opportunity to speak to a representative; I was able to ask a question and get a fast response. It’s a lot better than sending an email and crossing your fingers to get a timely response (or one at all). -The Amanda
Purchasing SSL units is extremely fast. Need certs asap, placed the order, sent in a PO and they showed up in my MPKI portal in less than an hour
I’m really pleased with Symantec Certificates They’re doing their job with quality. Business information was checked by phone call to validate the certificate requester’s information. Payment was simple, and I was only charged when the certificate was issued. They check my website every day to find malware, and I have faith in Symantec.
the certification and verification was a Little bit messy (therefore only a “4” ) but then it worked..
I found that it was easy and straight forward to renew our code signing certificate.
I ordered a code signing certificate from Symantec and 6 months later I got SPAM sent to my e-mail address from EMEA WSS MARKETING asking me to write a review on this website telling the world how great my experience was in buying a certificate from them. I would have given them a favorable ranking, but because they sent me SPAM, my opinion on their marketing tactics has dropped considerably.
We’ve a managed PKI and we become execelent support when needed. Also our customers can contact always the Technical support and they are satisfied about the support they become from the support desk.
Help me with my installation mis configuration really fast and agent was very good
I thought that symantec was the best option for an SSL certificate, i was definitly wrong, they are way too expensive, they took over a week to check my credentials for the certificate, the tech support is slim to none, and they keep spaming my Email with useless information, ill check GlobalSign next time.
Even after having remained with them for around 4 consecutive years as local customers, we got about 100 bucks in discount. Nothing else. They are too onerous. Symantec / Verisign are also on the same vessel. Quite overpriced. For a lower price point, you will find a same or a better service in some other providers.
It has become even more difficult to renew current certificates since Verisign was acquired / merged with Symantec. The website is so difficult to use that I needed help from phone support, which provided me with a clear url from which to function by email. Fortunately the service on the phone is outstanding. I’ve got some phone calls asking whether I needed any further support or if all was satisfactorily resolved.
For many years, we had been using Verisign certs mainly because of the popularity of names but the price is through the roof. It shocks me that service with a business that requests top dollars for their services can be so difficult and scarce. It is time we moved on.
I was on my code-signing certificate for renewal, and had a problem. For over two weeks, I’ve been trying to get this resolved and still no help-they ‘re not trying to help case. I had already stopped purchasing SSL certificates as the expense is $499 / yr while I can buy $396 for the four years from Network Solutions. I’ll present you with a challenge. Go to the VeriSign website and seek to figure out how much it costs to get an SSL certificate. (Like fun). Do the same now (1 click) at Network Solutions. This is an example of what you will be dealing with when you buy VeriSign
We use multiple VeriSign certs and consider the purchase and renewal process simpler than some of the other companies that we have used in the past. Thawte was the harshest by far. But, if it is right for your budget, know what you want. VeriSign is one of the only companies that I know of the multiple certificate charges while you are loading balancing. That could make an already very expensive cert even more costly. If you need the name for your business and it’s worth it then you can’t go wrong.
It took quite a few days to get the initial certificate validated. I viewed this as a positive thing at the time-they rigorously checked my company’s credibility etc. A year later the renewal of the certificate was a pain and their assistance was very sluggish and insufficient. I actually gave up on the second renewal. Support has been just a series of auto responses – and their live chat is a joke – there doesn’t seem to be any people behind it. So, I’m going to find another supplier. Regards Klaus Bjorn Jensen, Denmark’s CTO Intellix
Having used every CA out there for a wide range of websites and other servers (email, vpn, as2, etc.), I can tell Verisign has a very strong product line for any scenario, from its cheapest Safe Site to its bank-breaking EV Pro. Offlate, they experienced a market share loss due to various other industry players. For most end-users, a cheap Class 2 godaddy cert that costs $19 to a verisign safe Class 3 site cert that costs $399 is really no difference. However, heavy users can get good discounts-with their Controlled PKI goods. In the last few years, they have so many times modified their ROOT and Intermediate CA certificates-and this has caused some questions. It is mostly bad timing but some of the changes could have been avoided by Verisign. Recently Symantec bought the SSL company from Verisign. Hopefully they will continue to have, or better, the same quality of service.
The VeriSign name used to be synonymous with SSL certificates but the time changed. Our SSL cert, signed by VeriSign is about to expire. It’s too expensive to renew the Cert with them. Our company is unable to afford $2000 for a two year SSL cert, despite the economy. For non-critical domain names we turn to GoDaddy, and for our critical SSL certs we search for a reputable CA other than VeriSign. Thank you VeriSign for the T-Shirt? It was great doing business with you.
Ok, we’ve always bought VeriSign in the past, but now if we want to buy and pay on invoice, we have to buy from Switzerland, not from the UK. We can still pay to a UK bank account but a certificate issuer seems to be very wary of this. Is this built to stop VAT?
Time for Verisign to drop their rates to be in line with the competition or they will continue to lose market share at an increasing pace as current certificates expire.
