Ransomware remediation

Ransomware Remediation: Recover ransomware encrypted files with Bitdefender

Ransomware is malicious software that encrypts files and holds them hostage for ransom. To regain access to files such as photos, videos, and important documents, users must pay hackers. Spam e-mails and attachments can spread infection. Users may also visit infected websites, download malicious software, or visit infected sites. Ransomware may have the following behavior to block the user’s access to his system:

* Encrypts personal and sensitive files but does not allow for decryption until the ransom is paid.

* Displays a message asking for money and locks the computer’s screen. This will not encrypt any files, but force the user to make the payment.

* Prevents running applications

Ransomware can be extremely adaptable, so it is possible to prevent security software from an interception for short periods. Bitdefender now offers a new layer of protection against this kind of malware.
