How do I use the free shared SSL Certificate?

For all assigned and parked domain names in your account, Bluehost now offers free SSL certificates. The SSL will assign and install itself to your new and existing domains in most circumstances; however, certain clients may need to explicitly enable the certificate. Enabling the Free SSL Certificate

  1. Go to your Bluehost control panel and log in.
  2. From the left-hand side navigation menu, select My Sites.
  3. Click the Manage Sites option to find the site you want to activate the free SSL for.

  5. Navigate to the Security tab.
  6. Toggle the Free SSL option in the Security Certificate area.

  8. It can take a few hours to install and activate SSL once you’ve switched it on. In some cases, we may require your participation to complete the procedure. If that’s the case, you’ll get an email with instructions.

  1. Go to your Bluehost control panel and log in.
  2. From the navigation menu at the top of your screen, select the WordPress tools tab.

From the navigation menu across the top of your screen, select the addons option.

Enter the term SSL in the search bar, then click the learn more button when the SSL Certificates appear.

Disabling the Free SSL Certificate

  1. Go to your Bluehost control panel and log in.
  2. From the left-hand side navigation menu, select My Sites.
  3. Click the Manage Site button next to the site you want to deactivate the free SSL for.

  6. Toggle the Free SSL option OFF in the Security Certificate area.
