I’ve had a couple of problems with Godaddy’s SSL lately, the last one falling out of the blue, which is very serious. 30 (THIRTY) websites in our company have been put out of service. I only discovered this by mistake yesterday when one of my trusted websites that hasn’t been touched for a long time didn’t function when I was making a presentation on it; I got a “Certificate Revoked” notification on three separate browsers, plus two others when incognito, and even on my mobile. Sure enough on Godaddy’s SSL certificate information it said revoked, highlighted red letters, and Godaddy’s Support said that wasn’t the case, and then unexpectedly, when on the phone with them, that turned orange, and their support instructed me to give it a week to repair it. Revoked for no reason-30 websites down while waiting in limbo. Godaddy’s help just excuses their program for being old — a really weak excuse for a customer paying the highest dollar for it, and expecting it to work. Using SSLLABS.com to check Godaddy’s SSL, Godaddy is graded as a “F” for their SSL given to garcinia-mangostana.com that manages these 29 other websites that are currently down due to SSL issues. With Godaddy, if they can’t blame you, you’re going to get another B.S. Excuse me any time you’re calling a question! My only option right now is to re-key this SSL and hopefully this reset will take care of this issue while wasting another 72 hours to spread across the internet.
Prompt Service Provided By Godaddy Team, and Tech Support Team.
We are using multiple SSL Certificates from GoDaddy, SSL Shopper is extremely helpful in any regards related to Secure Socket Layer (Server Certificates)
Our relationship with Godaddy has been extremely helpful. The hosting entity of our client did not explain the appropriate steps for obtaining a CSR from the host server, copying and pasting the CSR into the GoDaddy CSR Validation tool after validating the CSR, retrieving the private key from the newly created CSR and simply pasting the private key information into the private key SSL portal for uploading. As a result of GoDaddy’s technical help, they took a gigantic tennis match between themselves and our client’s host and reduced it to its lowest denominator and effectively put the SSL into place for our company. Was it so hard now?

According to the guide page that they provide, they must do it automatically everything because I got all services including domain, hosting, firewall, and SSL certificate everything from Godaddy. But, they never help. Even though I followed the steps, SSL is not working and the website is down for almost 24 hours. They never get responsibility and their firewall is causing all issues. Do not make the mistake I have made and never work with Godaddy!
Godaddy has been a nightmare since I began with them. The absolute worst customer service I have ever received. It’s a joke. Their solution to any problem is to pay them to fix it, nothing less.
Our company domain stopped operating more than a week ago as the certificate expired. GoDaddy has modified the one on {ourdomain}.com, and the certificate correctly identifies both the domain and the ‘web’ host as aliases. But it does not appear on www.{ourdomain}.com, which still uses the old certificate. We spent a lot of hours helping them, which maintains that this is not a issue at all, as the ‘www’ hosts link to the domain name. The only problem with this is that browsers must check the certificate before redirecting it, and several GoDaddy support members must absolutely fail to accept it. This site and OpenSSL display the issue quickly, but it is constantly being ignored as insignificant.
They cause us big damages, the website was not loading because their ssl had a malfunction, and they didn’t find the issue for few days. The website was not accessible for few days and they could not fix the issue. AND STILL CAN’T!!!!
You can buy basic SSL from godaddy, but not any more advanced ones. All, please note EV, wildcard etc. needs an extensible and horrible verification process. Your limit of endurance will be tested. Even if you have given them all the appropriate ID proof, certified letter, org registration number, etc. your certificate will not be issued. They’re going to keep sending previous mails asking you to send them again. Below is an example of mail; however, sadly, we can not recognize it as it is now. Reports must be typed, screenshots can not be allowed. ———-Even after constantly asking what they plan to do after work at the moment, they sent the same mail. Second, we didn’t send any screenshots. Don’t use godaddy for advanced certificates.
once you’ve paid them, they make you miserable to help. No after sales support. Their support staff is 10th grade english speaking zoombies.
I’ve had my site down for more than a day because of them. They removed my certificate without informing me, and the new certificate was never installed on my account, so I switched to a different provider. They charge big, but their backend tech is bad. Don’t use them particularly if you have multiple certificates. We can’t do that.
Very poor / clueless technical support with very poor English skills
I’ve got several pages. I invested more than 60 hours on 10 ssl certificates with Godaddy Customer Service. I spent hundreds of dollars and still don’t get any help just wanting me to buy more or more certificates than they gave me for the first time. I’ve been with Godaddy for almost 10 years. It doesn’t make any difference. I’m really pleased that they’ve always been fantastic. I don’t know what happened to the SSL. I wouldn’t have recommended them for that.
They’re terrible and they’re going to ruin your website and your profits! Every time I talk to another rep, I’m told something completely different from the last rep I talked to. This happens over and over and results in a massive waste of time and a loss of revenue, both in terms of sales and potential customers. This is related to web hosting and SSLs. My advice: stop Goddy at all costs!
Our contact with Godaddy has been extremely helpful. The hosting entity of our client did not clarify the necessary steps for obtaining a CSR from the host server, copying and pasting that CSR into the GoDaddy CSR Validation tool after validating the CSR, retrieving the private key from the newly created CSR and simply pasting that private key information into the private key SSL portal for uploading. As a result of GoDaddy’s technical help, they took a colossal tennis match between themselves and our client’s host and reduced it to its lowest denominator and successfully loaded the SSL into place for our client. Was it so hard now?
Godaddy offered telephone support and offered an appropriate product. I’ve had a strong to average experience with phone help. I found Godaddy far more expensive than other suppliers, but what made me move away from them was an endless urge to renew or purchase products that I didn’t want or need to “Give me your credit card and buy right now or the price will go up” hussle. Anyone who claims that SSL installation is simple has not checked access to their site internationally. You’ve got to note that a lot of caching is going on. On top of that, the private key generated when generating the Certificate Signing Request (CSR) is NOT what you install on your server, which may be confusing. If you get the configuration wrong, it can not turn up in your browser for more than an hour because of caching.
At this moment, we are satisfied with the service.
I’m slowing down switching all my products / services away from Godaddy. I used to be a great fan of their programs, and always recommended them. Now it seems like they have become a route to “sales” and the customer service that I used to rave about is very frustrating to say the least. I recently had an SSL certificate extension, but somehow they managed to mess up the extension, and my website was flagged as unsafe, potentially costing me thousands of dollars every day it was down. They were trying to put the onus on me to address the problem on their own. I’m on day 5 now, without the problem being resolved and still waiting. I’m going to switch this site away from ASAP.
I’ve been a huge fan of GoDaddy’s domain services, and until the SHA256 certifications became a mandantory, SSL certifications as well. We used GoDaddy for our SSL cert wildcard domain, and it turns out that root servers are not included in the Java KeyStore. To make matters worse, the certificate chain tends to include a root server, a 1st level intermediate server and a 2nd level intermediate server. Root server and 1st level intermediate server have identical subjects meaning CN, OU O, etc. This seems to make it difficult for me and the support provider to load the SHA256 cert chain servers into the Java KeyStore. To be sure of authentication, we needed to shift the SSL resolution to our load balancing unit. It seems ridiculous that chain servers are called identical and that after all this time issuing SHA256 certificates, they are still not included in the Java KeyStore values by default. If we have any more issues like this, we’re going to be forced to get our SSL certificate from an alternative source. GoDaddy has known about this topic for a long time from the forums.
Initially Bought at 599/-,… But the renewal is too expensive,.. Hence had to switch to Comodo.
I bought a UCC SSL certificate for my exchange server, had it worked for a couple of days, and then hit the weekend, and it was cancelled. I resolved this the following week after a lot, a lot, a lot of bad service experience, and then hit the weekend, and they revoked my certificate again. Godaddy’s OSCP server will update forever, goDaddy support would send different answers every time you call in to various techs, they won’t even use their OWN ssl software, but then refer you to SSL Shopper, which is also out of date and doesn’t read live SSL data to make sure that the cert does one thing when it isn’t. I’m not going to be renewing with goDaddy again, and I’m not going to suggest them either. Thank you.
The technical support is atrocious, we sent them tons of information and they kept asking for more. Waste of time! Go with DigiCert and save your time, money, and sanity!
A list of issues since the purchase of a regular SSL from GoDaddy 2 weeks ago. I’ve installed a few SSLs and I know how to do it, but I had to re-install it three times. As it was happening, GoDaddy informed me they had to test my business, given the fact that I don’t have a business that they really didn’t understand. But then when I asked why they needed all this testing for a regular SSL, they said they didn’t need it. Haha Anyway, the SSL was up and running a few days ago. Except, it indicates intermittently that SSL has been revoked on a variety of different browsers and computers in various locations. It’s just a joke. I just bought from Godaddy because they had a discount on it, but I’m going to stick with TSOHosts or NameCheap-I’ve never had a problem with them.
Hi, I’d like to file a formal complaint against GoDaddy.com Here’s the following reason: on September 18, 2018 – I purchased an EV SSL from GoDaddy and submitted all the requisite business validation documents. I’ve been through this cycle for at least three years in a row. I didn’t get the certificate at the end. Their program automatically rejects my application because their validation team took such a long time to validate, which normally takes 7 days from competitors. They told me they couldn’t get in touch with our local agencies here, which aren’t my fault either. On December 25, 2018, I wanted to get my refund, to my disappointment, they told me I couldn’t get my refund due to their “out of the scheme refund.” They’re pushing me to get a GoDaddy credit refund or in-store credit refund minus the month running from September to today. How do I not get a refund for a product (EV-SSL) that I have never been able to use and was not given to me? Please support me, I’ve already tried to contact them for this problem twice.
No support or assistance from Godaddy to resolve the issue and I purchased new certificate from COMODO
worst service – always need to rekey – its not like standrd ssl – once set up never need to set up – guy from godaddy chat support even doesnt response every time ask support just then f**** want to sell their premium service and support or send you some tutorial URL
overall its ok … my first experience with godaddy is ok until yet … i hope its also good in future and give more products as low cost with full satisfaction of the user …
We had GoDaddy SSL on one of our pages, and GoDaddy wanted to revoke our certificate without letting us know. They were notifying us until after the fact by e-mail … Interestingly, it’s Friday afternoon. Okay, no big deal, so downloaded and installed the new cert, the root auth has been new. Turns out that Safari didn’t like this move. After clearing the cache and resetting the Safari, I reached out to help. It was a pointless phone call. After a few hours of playing around, we agreed to go to the Digicert SSL Certification. Question has been solved. We ‘re not going to use GoDaddy going forward. We used them for a variety of hosting needs, SSL and domain stuff. We will continue to switch to other services as the services expire. We have been a faithful client.
I just got my domain through Go Daddy last night and signed up for their free trial of hosting. They are really good. Thanks.
I got the Regular SSL at a very low rate of just about 10-12 dollars, but they asked for more than 60 dollars at the time of renovation, and they never advised me that I could use the self-signed SSL even for Free. In addition, the disparity between Fresh and Renewed SSL Certified could not be clarified by GoDaddy. When I came to know that there was no difference between Fresh SSL and Renewed SSL, I was refunded my Renewal Charges and allowed Fresh Certified Purchased from some other CA just for $7 (Seven Dollars) only. I am a senior citizen and retired banker who built my own CIBIL Consultants website and I can install any SSL in a matter of minutes.
Before contacting Gina we spent hours checking that there were no conflicting SSL’s. At first she tried sincerely to help. The SSL worked for some SANs but not all, with SSL testing sites (even GoDaddy’s) telling two SANs to have an OCSP mistake. She moved us to Henry who declined a refund and declined to get the UCC certificate operating on a GoDaddy Server installation. If it was an implementation mistake, none of the SANs would operate, in the absence of conflicting certificates, which we had assured was none. This comes on the heels of their server people who put a line in the.htaccess file that redirects all the.jpg,.png. .Gif files to distribution site GoDaddy. These individuals can be cost-effective for domain purchases but it’s hit or miss for hosting and stable certificates, so you don’t ever want to be on the “miss” side of things. I will remain really straightforward about hosting GoDaddy and SSL’s.
Google Chrome is still not showing andMozilla shows Padlock but with caution Triangle in Yellow color. Secured Green address bar with my website.
My web developer and I have attempted to install the SSL certificate a number of times over many hours. This was obviously not as straightforward as it should be. I eventually gave up and got godaddy to do it and in less than 15 minutes it was done. That should have been done to get started. That part of my review that says “how easy it was to order the certificate and handle the certificate” provides no choice-” hard to use
This was as easy as it gets. I called, they did it, they told me what to look for, voila, I’m secure within the hour.
I’m happy with their service and instructions. It was not expensive, quick and smooth procedure of installing and i’m pretty happy with the quality.
My website was perfect and an SSL was then ordered. It wasn’t properly built and my website was down for 18 hours. Their help ticket just said that it was my plugins that caused the issue but the plugins folder was renamed. They never replied and were asking me what was going on.
I purchased a GoDaddy SSL Certificate. The setup was pretty easy. The SSL Certificate has been switched on within 15 minutes. GoDaddy has the best encryption available to us. I’m really happy with GoDaddy. Nice for the quality.
I know we’ve got to do all the awful stuff to make the transition to SSL / Hţs. I did it a couple of times and it looks as if godaddy made it easier to do that. Don’t just go for it. For godaddy it’s just a new model of capital. I spoke to approximately 10 different techs (all of whom offer unidentified names -Dave, Paul, Mike, and so on-) following their grief instructions. Following advice from SLL techs would completely result in spending, discomfort and embarrassment. Its directions are going to destroy your pages. The techs are qualified to then take advantage of your confusion, a confusion that a MESS of conflicting directions adds to. Good Luck if you make the error of past experience believing that Godaddy will take care of you. Not real any more. If you consider someone who really knows what they are doing about SSL, please share around.
Anyone who applies for an EV SSL must pass a rigorous vetting process that no hacker or thief could survive. If you have an Extended Validation EV SSL Certificate, customers know you’re legitimate.
Site is very easy to use. Only one things I don’t like about godaddy is that renewal cost are too high.
I am never going to buy any product from godaddy again. Their customer care people dont know anything. They dont know the navigation in their own website.
Google Chrome still does not show the Green Safe PadLock in its address bar. Mozilla displays Padlock in Yellow color along with alert Triangle. Still struggling with my website to get Green Secured Padlock inside the address bar. If the hosting company is HostGator, then Godaddy is less interested in supporting me when a domain name is registered with GoDaddy, and GoDaddy even issues SSL.
Got it for very cheap from GoDaddy for just 350 INR for 1 year and from next year it will be 4000 INR. But after adding https support to my website i can see that website loading has slowed down tremendously. I am not sure if its due to the SSL or in general!
Go Daddy tries but as the others way to complicated as a host – too many options and drag and drop doesn’t really work on any of them,
“GoDaddy lost their certificates with their weak upgrade from SHA-1 to SHA-2” as reported by a previous reviewer. If you need PCI enforcement, the root SHA1 certificate triggers a failure. There are few SHA1 certificates in the chain for GoDaddy Technical Support Refuses, but any fool with a browser can have their SHA1 root certificate. Admit the issue, and fix it … To deny that problem is just idiotic, time-consuming and frustrating.
Good certificate, easy and fast installation. Very Good
It works very well, just read the documentation for your server.
Visitors from around the world today are very conscious of online security. I think now that we’ve secured our website http://www.lipebeachresort.com we offer our website visitors a much better experience. Hopefully by having more trust in the first step they are booking to stay with us in a more comfortable way on beautiful Koh Lipe in Thailand!
We hired an internet marketing firm to recreate our site as open, and upgrade us to an SSL platform. They handled everything fast and with no problems. GoDaddy ‘s SSL cam but E-Platform Marketing is the reseller / agency.
I did never asked for it to re-new. Highly irritated by the way Godaddy just take money without prior notification. They should wakeup.
I installed a code signing certificate into my software – but customers still got a ‘dangerous i uncommon software’ error message. It simply wasn’t up to the task.
So happy you enhanced your process making it SO much faster and easier for certificate updates!!! Your support is ALWAYS the best!!!
As explained in my COMODO review, the continued use of their SSL certificate was up in the air (it was chosen as the temp-cert for our website). Well, after having checked out numerous SSL-services through cert-checking services, and after a few dozen chat-sessions & phone conversations with Sale’s Reps & Techs (not to mention having the experience of having a COMODO SSL for several months), we chose to go with GODADDY’s SSL certificate as our permanent one. The main reasons for this switch were that the customer service provided by GODADDY was excellent (unlike Comodo ‘s lack of it), they gave us the option of different SSL-key lengths & algorithms, and having a 4 cert deep Trust Chain was like a cherry being placed on top. So sum up, which COMODO is good as an SSL service, GODADDY has proved GREAT!
GoDaddy broke their certs by upgrading them from SHA-1 to SHA-2 shakily. The client machine MUST be patched to get the root cert modified to allow some of the new certs to function. It leaves all software / OS / devices out of date unable to use such certificates. Until a year ago they were not even included in the bundles of authority with java. These are useless; they will be replaced by geotrust for free.
Our organization has more than 10 years of working with GoDaddy. Service level, and quality of the product is excellent. We have also interacted with several others who can not even get close to GoDaddy. Any customer we gain is encouraged to turn to GoDaddy, and they are all happy and stay year after year.
I see a lot of reviews here about Godaddy as a whole, but I decided to give my opinion since it’s actually SSL oriented. So basically it was JUST WORKS, it was super quick and straight forward. This is the first time I have installed an SSL so I can’t compare it to others, but the experience has been great for me, at least. Btw, I switched my hosting from Godaddy too, so I only got this SSL that I just bought from them … I would recommend it, and also recommend that other reviewers focus their reviews on what this site is about, which certainly is not about hosting. Happy luck!
They ‘re great to work with and they’re very responsive and they got a great product. I’ve got a lot of Standard and Wildcard cert and really had some good luck with them. Use Godaddy also for our UCC domain exchange and all worked great.
Suck Comodo. They have still not been able to issue me an SSL certificate after two weeks. I went to Go Daddy and in under an hour they could issue on. Their customer support was understanding and helpful. I ‘m going to use those again.
GoDaddy is the worst service provider I’ve ever seen on the net in 25 years n. I’ve transferred all my domains from them to a different host because they’re rude, sluggish, stupid and costly. I will never go back to them and I advise all my friends , colleagues, kids and grandparents not to do anything about them.
Don’t bother downloading the GoDaddy codesign certificate in Windows. To complete customer orders, I needed to get my certificate renewed. GoDaddy sent me a file about spc. It won’t install in Windows, as it doesn’t have a private key. Plus you can’t get a private key. I was on Microsoft’s phone for 2 hours ($500.00) and they eventually met with support from Godaddy who said they could not help. They sure have low expectations for a big business. Stay tuned!
They are allowing only their ssl on their hosting account.
Since 2010 I work with godaddy and 1*hosting is really slow, 2 * there is no 24/7 help 3*they don’t care whether your host is slow or fast or they don’t care whether you’re going to be a customer or not! They make people fun!
In my experience they are sometimes delayed in their customer services insofar as I observe them. However, due to their features and their services I still love Godaddy are fine. I love their best prices on the website, and with all these cheap prices GoDaddy is one of the best web servers in the world that offers 99.9 percent upgrade. You can get here couponchief.com/godaddy all I can advise to those who want to get a promo because it saves your budget for your new website. As long as I see my sites with a lot of viewers and making money I still love godaddy services:) While many people keep saying that Godaddy wasn’t a good host. But for me, while they’re not flawless, they’ve done their utmost and they’ve tried to find out what’s the best website consultation. I was having bad time with the Tech. GoDaddy ‘s support but it was just in a short time and they resolved my issues. Godaddy is the top 5 best hosting for me and you can also get promo codes from Couponchief.com which will help you with your budget.
I installed it quickly and easily on ubuntu + nginx, you only need to know the commands that will be used in 1- generate CSR 2- concatenate the bundle+cert files 3- in the config file of nginx.
Mon conseil : faite vous assister au téléphone car l’interface assez difficile à suivre que vous connaissiez quelques chose aux certificats ou non. J’ai bénéficié d’une assistance téléphonique parfaite. I advise you to call before acting because user Interface is not explicit wether you know x509 or not. Online support will help you to get the result you deserve in a timely way.
They were all surprising bad goods. GoDaddy server emails being blocked, email clients being unable to properly access servers. Dropping page, an absolute nightmare to deal with while trying to figure out issues. GoDaddy doesn’t take responsibility for any tech problem, the worst business I’ve ever worked with and it took me years to know their flaws are overall!
I was trying to get the Code Signing Certificate renewal (2nd year) to work. I spent some time reading on-line support for Godaaddy. Which could have been written in Latin for whatever use it was … I then phoned the help line and talked to a really sweet lady for 30 minutes, who had no idea about code signing certificates. Her closing statement was “we offer code signing certificates, but we don’t support installation there and you should look for support from google …” Great …
The code signing certificates directions on their website are either inaccurate or incomplete, so your support people can’t help. I cancelled my transaction with them, unfortunately after a day and a half of wasting trying to find out how to sign my file.
Although their reps are we based snd speak English, they know absolutely NOTHING about or how to use the code signing certificate. Equally useless is their Virtual Support. Never did it work, and had to call for a refund. Then went to kSign.com, paid 1/3 less fkor for a Comodo Certificate, downloaded a fast, intuitive free app that made my code quick and easy to sign. Recommended to kSign.com!
As a full-time web developer and consultant, I use a range of tools like hosting, DNS, and SSL. I consider GoDaddy to be great for DNS, nice for SSL (although certain clients are just dead-set on Verisign (Symantec), but more challenging to host (at least on the shared platform) because the directory structures are special and I’ve run into performance problems. I’ll continue to use DNS and SSL with GoDaddy all the time.
Took the payment from PayPal, and never issued the SSL certificate. They say no order given-their help is useless. No certificate or refund after 2 weeks, despite getting both GoDaddy and PayPal receipts. The receipt has been sent to GoDaddy support but still claim ‘no order imposed’!!!!!!
Godaddy used to be great at SSL. Now that they have “upgraded” their SSL interface you can only easily validate your SSL certificate via the email in your domain’s whois record. If you need help you need to wait twenty minutes on the phone, then wait twenty hours for them to turn it manually to http verification. What used to be a 15 minute job now takes many hours to get your SSL enabled and the endless page refreshes. In the new year I will be exploring better choices. I ‘d voted zero (because I need immediate results) but the form wouldn’t let me!
The control panel is sucking, user interface is sucking, support staff is sucking and response time is sucking! I hate using GoDaddy so much that I’m about to spend money on getting it transferred to a new registrar and getting a new SSL Cert just so I don’t need to waste another day dealing with these clowns!
Support staff is highly irresponsive. Could never answer any question. They have a standard template for all the questions “Not in our control. We can only pass on details to the U.S. team and pass on what they tell us to you.”
It’s been 7 weeks since I tried to get an EV Validation certification. Our company is registered with an official Swiss Business Registrar. This registration is only obtained if you receive it and are assured. But Godaddy DONT WANT THE Credential!! They ‘re just looking for a cheap (imagine) Phone Bill that anyone can change themselves …. And the support just doesn’t take any responsibility to make shure, they ‘re actually doing that right now in the States … I can never recommend Godaddy, I ‘m sorry, I’ve taken hours of work and some gray hair. PS: for the overall rating I wanted to rate 0- the worst but this site did not accept this.
I like the Godaddy Standard SSL. Great Value for what you get!
We were quite satisfied with your services
IT’s not a mistake for GoDaddy to mount a certificate is tricky. You’ll have to learn how to use some form of UNIX shell (this is a command line way to connect to the protected files on your server. You’ll have to take all the steps very carefully and check the internet to solve any question. Once you’ve got the things you need to do to create a certificate request and submit it to GoDaddy, they ‘re nice, the site’s well laid out, and if you’ve got the things you need to do to create a certificate request Then I did it ALL again 😉 … From start to finish around 40 minutes. I’m totally happy with how GoDaddy did it all and that green bar looks great!!
I bought from them multiple domains ad hosting … Only my order wouldn’t be processed, prompting me to call. An unprofessional ‘bachelor’ sounding who might have eaten a sandwich answered the phone and had to type my order manually. He tried to process the order right there but I wanted to check all, there were several domains. Nice thing I have done! He pronounced 2 of the names incorrectly by 1 letter (both awesome industry-specific names, the remaining personal domains and’oddly worded’ .. it seemed dishonest that the rep would fudge the simple useful names and REALLY tried to pressure me for telephone processing …. and then take the name? … I heard it happen and this guy sounded like no professional but the owners slob cousin ….
I was able to get a VPS for 6 months at a very affordable rate through GoDaddy. The bonus? a FREE standard ssl. They are the ONLY provider to give their clients a free ssl no strings attached when you buy a ssl through them unlike their providers. I would recommend GoDaddy to anyone looking to start up their website.
reasonable price with the 30% code and immediate issue upon validation
We have been buying Godaddy SSL Certs for years. Certificates shall be issued immediately upon verification of the domain. Which you can do now by putting a small control file on your SSL Name hosting web server. Trick with GoDaddy makes sure that you have your Intermediate Certs in place on the servers that host the site. When you do that, then you won’t have any issues. What wonderful value you get!
I swear they hire people who don’t even know what and how to use A certificate is. After three days of arguing with them about what a wild card is … they actually find someone with a idea. Finally, two days later, a reply … no wait we lost your paperwork. THAT WHAT!!!!?? Can’t find any of my personal information that I have given you? GoDaddy will and is register domains. They are incompetent and sadly ridiculously funny on every level.
Fun crowd to interact with. I’ve been new to the SSL / UCC process but they’ve been polite and fun to work with. They stayed with me until we have finished the work. I highly recommend them based on the outstanding service I got.
there support basically stated…they don’t provide server support…..if you want help from them….make sure you have a ton of time and someone else that can actually provide the assistance you need….because my dog provided better support than they did….at least he didn’t waste my time.
Aid mostly. Instead of being involved my SSL cert was found in progress. This hadn’t run out. We discovered this, as we lost sales. To find out why I couldn’t e-mail support. I tried the chat, and was dropped 1.5 hours later. I called, desperate. Support for the phone was all right but the gentleman had to put me on hold to ask someone else probably. He has not answered why my certificate was mysteriously active. I knew what the installation was doing but the measures he gave me were wrong. I didn’t think they knew the answers, really. I have a history of bad experiences with help. Long wait, don’t answer the question you have been asking. Never make any changes for you. If you buy a domain name, what they’re good for is that. Slow hosting. Could go on on old servers and I. They tried to sell me on discount at the end of my last call, because they had many domains. You are talking. WE push it all off, one by one.
The customer support person was very patient and very knowledgeable.
Been with GoDaddy for over 10 years. Still the best in my opinion. Sad that pricing is on the rise ($89 for my renewal to $149 for new).
I purchased a Go Daddy Standard SSL Certificate. The price had been fair. The certificate development and deployment documentation was outstanding. The only problem I’ve run into is that I had an error with their SSL checking tool. I came to this site (sslshopper.com) though, and it is working out perfect. I called for help and they immediately stated it’s OK.
GoDaddy are a great SSL company, they are the only service that I know providing 24/7 customer support and have very professional employees, I have not been disappointed with them anytime I have had to contact tech support. The One time that I had a delay in having my SSL cert issued they were absolutely fantastic.
I gave up and went with DigiCert after struggling with a GoDaddy cert for two weeks. GoDaddy seems to have forgotten that since they posted their final instructions, the Mac OS has been updated several times. The support tech was unhelpful and arrogant.
I was having issues getting the SSL to work, called support and they walked with me through the process. They get a 4 because they were patient enough to help but I was the one that actually figured out the issue. SSL is up and running most importantly.
GoDaddy inexplicably refuses to issue a second UC cert for a new Exchange server with a new CN, since both have the same ‘autodiscover’ A record. They involve the revoking of the old cert, leaving you with no transfer option other than turning over to a complicated roll-back in a single case. I was wasting time on the phone to figure out why this was happening, and the support person just said, “Because it’s not going to happen.” I said, “If this is the answer, then this is the end of our business together.” The guy reiterated that it was my problem that FQDNs in the SAN overlaps. Goodbye, Papa. PS-I never got a cert from them to issue it. We ‘re going through our testing phase with other options and will make a decision when we go to the pilot that doesn’t involve GoDaddy.
After applying for my SSL on go daddy installed the cert there was very little for me to d0. very cheap.
They seem to know what consumers need and have ‘seen it all before’ so you’re not alone even though you’re the world’s SSL Certificate expert with all its uses like me! You will just repeat your experience many times a year so it ‘s nice to have a service provider to support your rusty brain through every process of buying, downloading so renewing SSL Certificates. However, it could provide more up-to – date installation / renewal assistance on the Mac OS X Server App.
Would not provide enough help to make the certificate work. returned certificate and got a refund after 1 day. very poor customer service.
Really awesome and professional support from each and every team. Never bothered or got frustrated about my repeated questions.
When treating code signing certificates GoDaddy has fallen to bad. None of its help articles cover the ENTIRE cycle for deployment. Each article refers to another and in the last 2 years, none of them have been revised. Their approach is to use FireFox. All I want is one single cert, it’s impractical to install a new browser just to download the cert. I am never going to do that again.
Probably the poorest customer support in human history. They do actually come back to you but it’s always the same robotic copy/paste response.
The installation part was not as easy opening the certificate and pasting the information with another host.
We had issues with remote access to a new nas server that were resolved with GoDaddy’s patience and assistance.
GoDaddy is so easy to do business with. Customer service is very friendly and knowledgeable. Like having a person to talk to about products, etc.
They have been most responsive and helpful. Very pleased with their service. They have gone the extra mile.
I only gave a 3, because I got a flat tire the same day I bought the SSL. Okay, but this is no dumber than the cert fault because your scripts weren’t compatible with Apache Crypt and then it’s even more insane that it takes time for DNS to populate as GoDaddy has equal power over all three variables. I’m still bitter that my password wouldn’t work after buying a resale account and I had to call every time to get it functional and was treated like an idiot who almost everybody I spoke to couldn’t remember his password. It took 5 months to get a guy to listen to me and once he did… Their tech support had a solution within 24 hours to use rclogin.com to log in instead of a standard url … Worked immediately and 0 probs in the seven months since. It shouldn’t have taken 5 months to get there, though.
We use the GoDaddy Standard SLL and I am happy with the purchase as well as the level of support. http://handmaderetail.com
Certificate installation quick and painless.
Go to their site, find SSL Cert. you want, order it, wait a few minutes for emails, go back on their site, confirm and download. That’s it.
Our WhoIS had been screwed up by registrars and SSL cert expired at the same time. So NS … was no support because its validation goes through WhoIS … Required ASAP Cert … went with GoDaddy. I was literally accepted and mounted on load balancer within 50 minutes. SSL Cert was 60 per cent much cheaper
Installing ssl is a little tricky. I mounted twice. the first ssl cert was easy enough, but then i forgot how to do it the second time. I called godaddy and they asked me to use the online chat and they really helped me out. I had most of it planned, except for one or two items and they easily knocked it out. They then tested the ssl for me and ensured that everything was set up correctly. Great customer support and decent quality. They ‘re a great company.
we use godaddy EV certificate for our cliend and we are very happy!
